Dave Micek
Warehouse Projection / Show Technician
Originally from Nebraska, Dave has been interested in live theatre for as long as he can remember. Drawn to the opportunities that an urban setting offered, he moved to Chicago, landing positions with a summerstock theatre, and with DesignLab. Dave also spent time as a freelancer until he joined Show Department’s permanent staff. Today he maintains projection equipment for his department, and also works on-site for live events as a projectionist and technician. Dave is a casual musician and plays a variety of instruments including the mandolin, and is even learning to play the accordion. Regardless of the weather, biking is Dave’s preferred mode of transportation. Dave bikes to work every day and participates in Chicago’s annual “Bare as you Dare” World Naked Bike Ride.
