Southern Living at Home

Direct Sales Meeting

CHALLENGE Southern Living At HOME is a direct sales organization dedicated to bringing the pages of Southern Living magazine to life. Over the years, the company has enjoyed phenomenal success, making it the fastest growing party planning company in the history of direct sales.

SOLUTION Each year the company hosts a meeting for their independent SLAH Consultants who serve communities throughout the United States. The meeting aims to motivate the consultants, recognize the sales leaders, and introduce new products being added to the sales portfolio.

In collaboration with Jim Waldsmith Creative Arts, Show Department staged Southern Living at Home's themed event at the Indiana Convention Center and RCA Dome in Indianapolis. Suited to the location, the emcee's grand entrance was in a go-cart designed to look like an Indy race car.

Live Event Staging

During two General Sessions and one Awards Session, a cast of singers and dancers performed multiple skits and musical numbers. The entire program was designed to be interactive and engaging for the audience. Show Department designed an audio system to cover an audience of 2000 — a line array system plus a complement of fill speakers. A side stage monitor mix was also used for the cast, presenters, and assorted soloists. A blended HD image was rear projected onto a 20'x60' screen while 15'x20' images were rear projected on the program screens. A total of four Sony HD cameras were used in stationary long throw, handheld, and jib configurations for i-Mag and recording.
